Charles Senkondo

senkMr Charles Senkondo is the Executive Director of Tanzania Global Development Learning Centre (TGDLC). TGDLC forms part of over 120 centres within the Global Development Learning Network .

Mr Senkondo has over 10 years involvement in development knowledge sharing and training using modern information and communication technologies including video conferencing, internet and blended approaches. He is the Chairman of SWOPnet (Sharing With Other People Network), an association fostering information networking in Tanzania, a technical committee member of the Tanzania Development Gateway, a member of the Think-tank for National Information and Communication Technologies –ICT Industry for Development in Tanzania. He is also a member of Knowledge Utilization Through Learning Technologies (KULT) and Asian Institute of Management Alumni International Society for Improving Training Quality (isitQ).

He has been involved in several distance learning initiatives in Africa including satellite radio broadcast courses, the Tanzania Local Government Forum (TaLGAF) using blended approaches to cascade regional video conference dialogues to in-country regional level and an evaluator and team member in diverse ICT based task teams.

Before joining TGDL, Mr Senkondo worked as a Business Manager of the African Virtual University, Open University of Tanzania and in various manufacturing industries within the IPP Ltd. Group of companies. Mr. Senkondo holds an MBA (City University, London) and BSc. Engineering (University of Dar es Salaam).

As a part of the Global Development Learning Network, the Tanzania Global Development Learning Centre (TGDLC) with Mr. Senkondo at the helm, plays a key role in helping the Tanzania Women’s Chamber of Commerce as seen here in this video.
