On January 20th, 2010, sixty corporations began road testing two new greenhouse gas emissions protocols which will provide accounting methods for emissions of individual products throughout their life cycles and for corporations throughout their value chains. Developed by the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD), the two new GHG Protocol standards are known as the Product Life Cycle Accounting and Reporting Standard and the Scope 3 (Corporate Value Chain) Accounting and Reporting Standard.
Companies participating in the road test represent over 17 countries and include Procter & Gamble, IKEA, Coca Cola, General Electric, Kraft Foods, Autodesk, Inc, Ford Motor Company, JohnsonDiversey, Inc and many more.
